Here let me tell you something about my native city-CHANGANACHERRY

Changanacherry has produced an array of eminent men who have contributed to the richness of Kerala’s public life, art and culture. Prominent among them are A.R. Raja Varma and Kerala Varma Valiya Koithampuran, born in Lakshmipuram Palace and later scaled peaks of Malayalam literature.

The well-known Musician, L.P.R. Varma is also a gift of Lakshmipuram Palace.
The famous Malayalam poet Ulloor S. Parameswarayyar was born at the Thamarassery Illam at Perunna in 1877. He contributed much to the society as well as to the Malayalam language, being a good orator, poet and writer.
Changanacherry Parameswaran Pillai who took a significant role in the political history of Travancore was a judge in the High Court and a social reformer, worked tirelessly for the liberation of the oppressed classes and a political leader.
Mannathu Padmanabhan, who was a powerful person in the social and political arena of Kerala is also a son of Changanachery. He was incomparable in his contributions to Kerala, as a social reformer, freedom fighter and a politician. He was born in 1875 in Perunna and worked hard for the upliftment of the Nair society till the end of his life. As a result of his efforts, the Nair Service Society (NSS) came into existence and have grown into a very powerful social and political organisation now. N.S.S. came into its active existence after the "Nair Bhrithya Jana Sangham" which came into existence at Mannathu house in the 31st October 1914. Mannathu’s strong leadership of the freedom struggle made him a tall political figure. It was his leadership that made Changanachery a centre of attention on the political map of Kerala.
Kanikkara Padmanabha Pillai (Drama artist, actor and social worker) Kainikkara Kumara Pillai (teacher and freedom fighter) and Kalathil Valayudhan Nair (famous advocate) are also Changanachery’ proud sons.. Dr. L.A. Ravi Varma who was the Chairman of Kerala Ayurvedic Organization and the founder of the eye hospital at Thiruvananthapuram was also from Changanachery.
Raju Narayana Swamy who introduced I.A.S. to Kerala is one of the great academic giants of Changanachery.
